Istanbul Sommer Tee Garden ist vom Sommerleben in Istanbul inspiriert. Tee, kuchen, Unterhaltungs und Brettspiele sorgen für eine gemeinschaftliche Atmosphäre. Einem Gesprächs-Menu dient dazu, die Unterhaltung zwischen den Nachbarn anzuregen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen, neue Geschichten kennenzulernen und Gemeinsamkeiten zu entdecken. Wir bieten einen Jugendlichen workshop an, in dem die für das Projekt Fähigkeiten gelehrt werden.

The Istanbul Sommer Tee Garten Project
Inspired by the generous heart of Istanbul; the serving of tee, and snacks, live music, board games, conversation menus and the smile of a stranger we aim to recreate a sense of this Turkish welcome in Berlin.
The conversation menus are designed to encourage discussion between neighbours, and strangers alike, and to create a common ground to share our human stories. Waiting staff are young German-Turkish people interested in their culture heritage, performance and hospitality. They undergo a basic training with the triage team.
Aims of the Project
With our key partner organisation Quartiers Management Ganghoferstraße the members of triage will create the istanbul sommer tee garten over four weekends in August 2012. The project will focus on the cosmopolitan teegarten and the open-hearted hospitality of Turkish people. The teegarten project aims to bring to neukölln this unique aspect of turkish culture for the enjoyment of its local people.
triage will invoke the spirit of the teegarten as a meeting place for strangers, old friends, neighbours and families. We will focus on the enrichment of social forms and local understanding by inviting people to participate in the social pleasures of tee drinking and the relaxed atmosphere of the teegarten cultural experience.
The four teegarten events (August 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th) will provide a space for conversations and play using the everyday rituals that connect us as people: social warmth, music, sharing tee and board games, the smile of a stranger, great service and conversation menus in Turkish/German/English.
